Wedding Venue- Leave a Tip?

    Hi,

I am getting married shortly in a hotel. What experiences do people have at giving/receiving tips at weddings when you are the couple getting married?

What is the norm here? Do people give tips? If so how much? There will be about 200 at the wedding.

As a wedding guest I usually give the waiter/waitress on my table a few € at the end of the night but I have no idea how to play this one.

Really you tip the waitress's/waiter at a regular wedding? Never really heard of this being done before...

I have heard lets say if you are having a more private house rental one that you give the staff a tip but that is it...

We did, when we settled up the bill the day or so after the wedding. It had the same staff all the time, not a hotel type place with people on rosters at different times, so we knew the staff would get the tip.

We transferred a tip for the the staff involved at around 5% a couple of days after the wedding... Just hope it went to the right people.
