    Howdee

Looking for a bit of Algarve-ian knowledge/advice here.
I’m doing the Wicklow 200 in June but I’m heading off on the family hols at the end of May and won’t be back until 5 days before the big event.
I’ve been ramping up my training but i’ll be missing the crucial two weeks in the lead up and will undoubtedly be eating and drinking like a lad on the holiers tends to do.

I’m thinking of hiring a bike while I’m over there to get in a good spin to keep me in semi-shape for the WW200
So I’m looking fro any advice on decent bike hire places around Faro/Olhao
And for some decent hilly routes around that area too.
    Thanks in advance -

I've used Lisa Bikes four or five times at this stage and have always received an excellent service - delivery and collection included (and always on time!)

Send me a PM and I'll give you a link to my Strava account which has some nice 80-100kms spins up in the local hills above Faro.

The best advice I can give for cycling in that area is to buy a road map of the Algarve in a local petrol station rather than the rubbish in a newsagent, get inland to the hills on the far side of the A22 motorway and avoid the N125 (busy coast road) like the plague!!

    Hi Fillup,

was over in Villamoura in Nov 2015, hired a carbon bike from Megasport
105 groupset, Mavic rims etc. they delivered to the hotel with 2 sizes for me to pick from, maybe as it was off season!!
only thing i needed to specifiy was the type of pedals(Look keo in my case)
    they are near to Villamoura
i downloaded a route from Ridewithgps for the Garmin, but you'll need a Portugesse map on there as well, great roads compared to here and i went off the beaten track into the hills, booked all on the web(they seem to have more MTB's though)

Used this guy last year in Lagos, good bikes at a great rate, an ex-pro I think and if you want he can do some coaching with you.
