Question about Jobseekers/BTEA - Student

Hi guys

Quick question.

My girlfriend (25) is a mature student. She's about to finish up 2nd year of a 4 year programme. She hasn't worked since January and gets no Jobseekers or BTEA - She gets 250 quid a month SUSI payment.

Now that her SUSI payment stops for the summer months, is she entitled to claim jobseekers or BTEA?

At the moment I'm fully subsidizing her, I payment rent and bills as the sole provider.

Any help greatly appreciated

She won't qualify for btea till she's been on a qualified payment for at least 9 months for a start .

But as she's unemployed and no longer has her student grant, is she entitled to apply for jobseekers?

I don't think so, because she's still a registered student. Unless she withdraws from the course.

But for the 3 summer months she gets no grant or any sort of course related payment and is available to work?

That was the case with my sister anyway. She got a part time job in a perfume shop, otherwise she would've got zip until the college year restarted.
