Have been waiting to buy one of these but I have 200 euro of Amazon vouchers that I had wanted to use against it. Now I have to decide whether to pay the Amazon premium or not. :(

Go with Amazon, they're much better to deal with should anything go wrong.

Nexus have never had them, they're subsidised by Google to promote Google cloud services

Reports that the battery life isn't great on these. Anyone with one can comment on their real world experience?

Young lads' Nexus 4 is on its last legs.

Can get this phone, on eglobal central for 214pound, just need to use parcel motel or equivalent as they don't deliver to Ireland.

You will also pick up a 5pound discount handy enough on their website.

I bought it off them, no issues at all, was dispatched from UK, had it within 10 or 12 days..

Edit: one thing, they give you the 2 pin eu charger so will need an adapter or a new one. If you ask, they might provide the Irish one, not sure though.

Komplett give you the EU charger too but they provide an EU to UK adapter free of charge.

Going from a Nexus 5 to 5X, battery is much better and with the fast charge it's brilliant overall. Takes about an hour to go from less than 20% to full.

At the moment I'm charging the phone once a day, perhaps a few minutes here and there in between - compared to the 5 it was a lot more often.

All dependent on how you use it also.

Most people can't be bothered turning off data nowadays when not in use.

Location on, scanning always on in advanced WiFi, brightness on full, not deleting apps not used anymore...I've an original motog and battery lasts 3 full days if I need it to.

I got one from Amazon.de two weeks ago for about €280. Great phone but the battery is terrible. I'm constantly topping it up.

It came with a euro plug. The phone uses USB C so I had to buy lots of USB 2.0 - USB C Cables. Rapid charging only works with the USB C cable.

I tried to buy from Eglobal (mentioned above) but they kept rejecting my order.

That's nothing. I can make mine last weeks. I just charge it up and turn it off! :pac:

I always have everything like WiFi/GPS on 24/7 on my iPhone from work and it still lasts days, while having a smaller battery. I have an Android phone privately (Nexus 5) and I hate having to micromanage everything to make it last the day.

Looking for a successor now hence I was looking at this topic. But it's a shame Android still has such poor power management. Apple stuff is just so ridiculously expensive so it's not an option for me privately. But really this should last longer, if Apple can do it so can Google.

I bought off Eglobal, they provide a UK adaptor plug.

Anyway, the battery is okay, not great. I was coming from an XPERIA Z3 (it smashed and got water damage) which was unbelievable for battery, would last easily 1.5days with heavy use, the nexus? If you use it heavy you need to charge it. Luckily the fast charge really is great if you are heading out, just give it 20 minutes to top up.

Other positives is the camera, great camera on XPERIA but I believe the nexus is sharper, plus having vanilla android. Overall happy with it as I did not want to spend 700+ euro on a Sony or Samsung. To be honest most phones over 300+ euro will be suitable for day to day use.

If you use the search bar on eglobal.ie and type nexus 5x and choose the white 32gb version its only €275 instead of €319 in black :)

Cheers for that. I'm guessing you mean http://www.eglobalcentral.eu/ ? Do these get posted from within the EU? so I won't get stung with custom charges? I think I have read that this site is based in China. Also I have heard that returning anything can be a pain. I need to think about if it is worth the risk.
