    Q1: Paid since the start - now what?!??

    No final policy change resulting from current political talks has been conveyed to Irish Water.  When we are informed by government of any final policy decisions that affect Irish Water or water charges we will provide an update to our customers.

    Q2: what the avg usage now?

    Average consumption figures can vary depending on the number of occupants in the property. However, based on consumption figures for the first and second Billing Quarters, average usage for a two person household with a meter is 90m3.

    We will be more than happy to investigate these usage figures for you, if you provide the following details by PM:

    - Name;
    - Address;
    - Contact number; and
    - Confirmation that you are the account holder.

    Q3: 600% increase

    Irish Water bills are determined in two ways: Metered charges and Assessed charges.

    If you are on an assessed charged, your bill is capped at a set amount. For both water services (public mains and sewer) a one person household would pay 160 euro per annum, while a two or more person household would have a yearly capped charge of 260 euro.

    A non-permanently occupied residence, like a holiday home, would pay a minimum charge of 125 euro for the year for both services.

    Irish Water bills are then sent out every three months.

    If you are on a meter charge, your bills are determined by the water used during the quarter. This means that your bills can vary from one quarter to the next.

    You can find more information on water charges here.

    If you are on a metered tariff and you would like us to give you a more in-depth breakdown of your meter usage, we will be more than happy to help.

    If you provide the following details by PM, we can look into this for you:

    - Name;
    - Address;
    - Contact number; and
    - Confirm that you are the account holder.

    Q4: Billed for cryptosporidium laced water?

    Any household affected by a Boil Water Notice for more than 24 hours will receive a 100% discount on the water entering their property. If you affected by a Boil Water Notice for more than 24 hours and do not see this discount applied to your Irish Water bills, please accept our sincere apologies that this has not been applied and we will look into it immediately for you.

    In order to rectify this, would you mind providing the following details by PM?

    - Name;
    - Address;
    - Contact number; and
    - Confirm that you are the account holder.

    Alternatively, if you would prefer to call, you can contact us on 1890 448 448 and a member of our team will be happy to update this.

    Q5: Received a bill - new tenant

    If you would like us to look into any billing queries you may have, we will be more than happy to help.

    If you can confirm the following details, we will be able to look into your account and talk to you about your bills, specifically:

    - Name;
    - Address;
    - Contact number; and
    - Confirm that you are the account holder.
