Not to pick up. The first pick up stop after D'Olier Street is Ringsend Village

Does anyone know if the 84n still runs? It says on Dublin Bus website it goes at 12am 2am and 4am but the timetable hasn't been updated in over a year.

Looking to get to Bray from city centre this Friday night and if it still runs it would be perfect.

    Thanks

Yep still runs as per the timetable!

The Finnegans bus goes 1am and 3am from O'Connell Street too, if you need that.

    Yes the 84n still goes.

    Dunno about finnegans though.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

their website suggests it does, and also that it still does a leisurely grand tour of Bray before continuing to Greystones. Get the 84N if you can.

Bus leaving town at 3am only. This bus also continues to Kilcoole.

Finnegans bus to Greystones takes forever. I got the 3am one once a few years ago. Got to Greystones at about 4:45

yeah - it's a long time since I used it but that was my experience. On one occasion they kicked the Greystones passengers off at the Royal Hotel and put us on a minibus to Greystones which was much quicker, but most times you had to do the grand tour while the bus dropped people off practically at their front doors all over Bray :(

The 84N is super quick by comparison - I once got back to Greystones in 35 mins!

The Finnegan's is an experience. A positive or a negative one, I can't tell, it is what you make of it.

Can anyone tell me if the 84n nitelink runs Monday to Friday or is there an alternative if one finishes work at 11:30pm at around Stephens Green?

    Friday and Saturday nights only.

The Luas runs until 0030 - could you park and ride?

Without wanting to hijack a thread I personally find it a bit stupid why there isint a proper 7 day a week nightbus network in Dublin now I'm not suggesting they run buses at same frequency as day but I think one bus an hour at night. Even if Dublin Bus extended their last bus to half twelve like the luas or 1 in morning would be handy.

I've heard DB are planning on introducing a 24H service, it's unlikely to be on the 84 though (maybe the 145 might be a candidate as it is one of the core routes).

The NTA not DB is proposing it I somehow doubt Dermot O'Leary and Co. would happy if they planned to introduce that. If that ever does come to fruition will there still be Nitelinks or will 24h replace them.

I read in the Commuting/Transport forum that recent recruits in DB have contracts that stipulate 24H rosters, but it's awaiting NTA approval/funding - who knows.

Bus Eireann have already had routes that run overnight so I don't think the union would necessarily block it.

That's actually true enough I find silly how you can get a bus to Kells at 3 in the morning but not to Dun Laoghaire.

I was going to suggest the airport bus, but I see you're travelling from Stephens Green.

I looked at numerous bus routes, even to bray inc the 133 bus eireann, but all the busses stop at half eleven. Even the DART.
That's an awful situation to be in OP.

I've only ever needed a late bus at weekends so the times are a little later.

It looks like your option is the luas as another poster mentioned.

i don't drive so taking a car from luas parking is not an option

Can we try to suggest to Dublin bus to consider extending 145 route to Greystones (or does that sound silly)?

Also having Mon-Fri (or 7 day a week) nitelink 84N would help a lot!

in fact after a few months battle with DB i successfully got Charlesland bus stop number to be correctly marked on DB route planner as for years the stop was incorrectly marked (that was a couple of years ago).

If they even added a late bus to an existing route, that would be very helpful.
