I'm heading up to Dublin from Kerry in the morning for an embassy meeting. I am heading on a J1 for the summer.

I read that you can't bring electronics into the embassy, but I am currently on teaching practice and have an amount of work to do on the train up. I am just wondering is there a place where you can leave your electronics and then collect them afterwards? I am hoping someone on here will have an idea.

I would imagine security could look after it for you.
Might be obvious( maybe not if your from Kerry), but why didn't you call them ? :)

By the time I had heard bringing the laptop could be an issue, their office hours were over.

See Security at the embassy mid way down.

Looks like you're taking the day off from college!

I'll just leave it in the left luggage at Tara House beside Heuston I'd say

You can bring your laptop, because I've had to bring mine for the same reason (who has a day to waste traveling) After you go through the security scanners they have metal lockers you have to deposit all your electronics into.

So your phone, laptop, charger etc will all go into the locker and they give you the key.

    Relax! It's fine :).

EDIT: Just make sure the laptop can be turned on. They've asked me to boot mine up before to check it's all 100%. You'll be grand then.

yeah, same as .. they took everything electronic from us at the security hut at the entrance to embassy and locked all away in lockers with a key that they gave us to retrieve on the way back out ... had to hand in phones too
