Just curious if anyone knows why there is a relatively large ship that has been anchored off Lambay Island for the past few days???

It doesn't look like a fishing vessel, more like a survey ship.

Try http://www.marinetraffic.com/ and zoom into the area around Lambay Island. If the vessel is registered it might appear on the locator.

It was the Granuaile of the Irish Lights Commissioners probably servicing buoys in the area.

That's a handy app wishbone ,I'll be able to identify the Navy destroyer that anchor's off Skerries Harbour ,every now and then ,probably nipping in to Joe May's when The Capt n The Hill Billy ain't about.

I'd usually be too far inland in Nealon's or The Snug to keep an eye on those lads. (Not that I often get out that far from The Hills these days. :))
