    Hi.

I had astronomical water bill in the end of last year and Irish Water technician was out to investigate the issue in Ferbruary. He concluded, that the problem is with external supply pipe.
He gave me a leak investigation booklet where he marked the leak to be with the external supply and told me, that their First Fix team will contact me to schedule repair.
I was sent Free external supply pipe leak repair offer. I signed it and sent it back to them.

I did not hear from Irish Water since. I called customer support and I was told, that there is no point to call, they will be out when ever they will be and she would not know when. But the lady on the phone confirmed, that they received the letter I sent back.

Has anyone actually had the leak repaired under First Fix scheme?

I've just realised that I am being charged full amount for single user (I live alone), since registering last May. Went through all my bills to discover that the meter readings suggest I'm supplying my entire area - never mind my home! Contacted IW who said "You must have a leak". I had understood that  they would advise of this if they noticed such unusually high consumption over a 48 hour period. This has been happening for a year now. I have emailed them and they say they will get back to me.
Despite what's happening politically, I'm not impressed that by being compliant and paying my bills since the very beginning, I'm left with astronomical bill and no one seems too concerned about it.

4,644 leak repairs have been completed to date under the First Fix Free Scheme we offer and you can see more information on our First Fix Free scheme here.

However, we would like to apologise for the inconvenience and frustration that the delay in your leak repair may have caused you and we will follow up on this.

    Hi Mairead.

How long is the average waiting time to get the leak repaired?

If you PM the following details, we will follow up on this immediately for you:

I've the same issue and have been battling with Irish Water for 6 months now. I've been told numerous times that the contractor will call to arrange a date and fix the leak. They finally called last week and it was agreed to arrive last Friday (29th April) but then they didn't show up. Surprise surprise...

It's really frustrating and my biggest concern is whether the leak could damage the house or it's foundations.
