A hard enough card punting wise. Have an e/w double on Charbal and Road to Riches (3 places) ante post

Flemenstar for a few quid at 140, and in an e/w double at 66/1 with Coeur de Lion at 50/1. Macnicholson might go well in the handicap hurdle at 22/1 5 places 365, second in this last year off four pounds lower he ran well on the flat last start when just denied in a valuable handicap off a mark of 82. Ran well in the Galway hurdle off this mark and I'm not sure that too many of these are that well handicapped. Paddy Kennedy takes off five and the stable is in great form

SHANPALLAS @ 20s looks a decent ew bet to me with 21lbs less on his back now that hes back over hurdles.

Away from punchestown the 2.10 bath looks a tricky race with plenty having chances but ive had an ew on LADY BAYSIDE who is 5lb below C&D win mark with Fran Berry onboard. 12/1 best price

    GL2A

Hard to find value so I will go with willie Mullins horse in the last race

I've taken a chance on Simonsig. If Nicky has him back to his best he could take this. 10)1 is worth a small punt methinks.

Also went with Shanpallas ew as above

Whoa! There's a Steve Palmer "Face-spitter" if there ever was one! Flemenstar an n/r now though so you'll have to work for another while!

Couldn't resist a few quid on Simonsig, a cracking horse on his day albeit with a lot of problems, Vautour might beat himself again so backed Simonsig with and without.

I was encouraged by his reappearance while the long gap might put people off, Henderson has worked absolute wonders with his handling of his two other crack 2 milers this season, Sprinter and My Tent.

Automated looks laid out for 4.55-the locals in summerhill are backing this lad so I'm on Ew 7s

Fleminstar out ruining my 100/1 Ew bet on clarcam .

you can be sure that if there's an 8 runner grade 1, there will be a non-runner on the day.

Runfordave in the last in an average enough race, the price paid for him and his breeding may indicate he is something half decent and should run well. 6/1 is a takeable price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 95 ✭✭King_of_Kingz

Zabana has to be the bet of the day in what is a tough card to find value. Ive had a few ew on the Fahey horse in the finale, Katie is up and he knows how to ready one for debut.

my bets for the day have small money on (€10) just for the sake of watching €1 e/w bets and a €1 e/w accum on the 4....

    Modem 14/1 (16:55) 12th
    Gods own 10/1 (17:30) Winner
    Allerdyce 14/1 (18:05) 6th

Can't see why everyone fancies Zabana

Can't see why everyone fancies Zabana

Some good judges have been hyping this one for a while. Can't see it myself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

Might not be a great standard of horses but I love watching the cross country races

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭uxiant

Some bookies going 5 places in the 4.55 so it would be rude not to have a bet. Western Boy was a pretty classy novice hurdler before flopping over fences. He couldn't jump when brought back over hurdles some really good efforts on the flat prove he retains ability. I expect he needed the run as a massive drifter the last day and his jumping was better as a whole. He looks well handicapped off 129 and if he comes on for that could go well at 25s.

1.07 Petit Muchoir done at. Yorkhill never went a yard

7 winners in four days now for Harrington they are flying

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,941 ✭✭✭krustydoyle

Ah theres a big priced winner in those colours... ***kers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

I'd imagine there could be some funny priced winners with the ground. I'd be inclined to err on the side of caution with those that have ran at both festivals or a lot throughout the season

Someone give Jerry Hanlon a glass of water

better than the monotonous Dessie, mixing up horses, and his "coming up to the line" when there's a tight finish to be called.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,376 ✭✭✭Shemale

Did anyone else think Ruby looked less stylish than usual there?

The wrist might still be giving him a bit of guff

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,767 ✭✭✭Ben Gadot

Hindsight of course but Yorkhill was very short given how he made heavy weather of it last time around. Seems slightly moody, or maybe a long season getting the better of him.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,096 ✭✭✭✭the groutch

I think it was more the horse there, has a history of jumping left, and a 3rd festival in 6 weeks might have been too big an ask

    Oh great orange faced *****...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

Thought Elmono could out run its odds of 60 here they won with another French horse a while back down at Thurles first time in a handicap hard to know it could have a few pounds in hand

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,941 ✭✭✭krustydoyle

I feel sorry for Kevin Blake and Gary O Brien having to listen to that eejit mick fitzgerald

Simonsig ran an absolute cracker there, what a shame injuries have ruined his career, what a horse he could have been.

Vautour isn't half the horse going right handed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭Gringo180

    Doesnt look a 2miler

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,376 ✭✭✭Shemale

Great effort by Simonsig, real shame he lost the best 3 years of his career. Hopefully he gets a clear run at next season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,340 ✭✭✭sting60

Hope Ado McGuinness young lad can ride Hardline advised 8/1.He was brilliant in his ptp here and the second won in a canter next time.

I still think Vautour could win the Champion Chase at Cheltenham. Wouldn't jump to conclusions after that for a number of reasons.

What might have been with Simonsig. Great performance today.
