Connected to Imagine LTE less than 1 week ago, at times is been great, 70meg weird and 40meg WiFi but had several instances of very high pings and about 2meg download speeds. Anyone else connected having these issues? All day today has been terrible, and I'm considering if I should cancel within the cooling off period. Was on 4meg DSL before the switch. Cheers

What time of day did you experience the poor speeds and high pings? If it was from 6PM - 11PM it could be contention though it seems too soon for Imagine to have oversubscribed a mast.

Was thinking of signing up for the service and was told yesterday by "Niall" that they restrict the number of connections to any mast to avoid contention and also guaranteed a minimum of 30Gb.

Do you mind me asking how long the cooling off period is as I asked if I could trial it and was told no but if there's a cooling off period, I might be tempted.

Any contract entered into over the phone or on-line is subject to a 14 day cooling off period, where you can cancel the contract without reason. You may need to pay to return any goods and they must be in the condition in which you received them.

This does NOT apply where the contract is entered into in person (i.e. with a door-to-door salesman).

14 day cooling off period as mentioned by MMFITWGDV, first major speed impact was Sat evening at around 17:00 and was still ongoing when I called it a night. The whole day Monday was a disaster, lowest I got was 0.45megs. I've informed tech support and am waiting a solution.

    ISn't LTE just 4G ?

Technically 4G would be considered part of LTE (IIRC) but yes. The difference here is this is a high frequency, different type (TDD not FDD) and is only for fixed sites.

Assuming Imagine limit subs per cell it can maintain its speeds.

It was originally marketed as "up to 100Mb" and now it's up to 70Mb. I guess they over estimated at first.

On install they said I had excellent signal/los and I have got 70 megs on several speed tests. So I assume it must be OK.

Support should be able to monitor your signal remotely. Have you heard back from them? Do you know anyone else in your neighbourhood with the service? If a neighbour confirms the poor speeds it is more likely contention or perhaps a fault with a base station.

Does your speed improve after midnight or very early in the mornings? A good way to monitor your connection is to install a SamKnows box on your network.
