I have recently installed new fencing around my back garden. It has been pretreated but i want to paint it one of those new fence Paint colours. Has anyone else done this and should i use a primer first? I've 62m2 of fence so its going to be expensive so i'd rather not have to prime it. However, if the paint is going to soak in i don't want to waste it.

Nope no need to prime with the fence paints, but you normally need two coats of the lighter colours.

I think they may have changed the name but I've used a lot of Cuprinol Garden shades, found the yellow (honeysuckle) needed an extra coat where the wood was dark or knotted. Also use similar paint by Ronseal tbh hard to see any difference in them. Both covered very well and fast drying. Paint one panel and as you finish it would be dry enough on a warm day to start back and do another coat.

Edit> Its the colour range that has changed over the years.
