As we know there are only 2 wvs left in the db fleet I hear they're going to be replaced. Anyone what type of bus is replacing them and when are they being replaced.

Originally the rumour was Mercedes-Benz Citaro's were ordered. I think 3 or 5. But since Bus Éireann have sent their 2016 models back, before they even entered service, I wonder if it will come to pass. The Wrightbus Street Light would seem like a better fit for the DB fleet?

The streetlites look nice like a more modern wv. Although I would love to see citaros in the the db fleet. I wonder the new single deckers have middle doors.

AV 26 and 46 from 2000 are technically still alive. Admittedly they only come out in the peaks but then the 44B and 111 are only peak-hour routes too.

The issue with the new MC's seems to be with engine failure.

There are photos of MC312 on Route 206 being put on a lowloader which are apparently displayed on Facebook for the past few days.

Two MC's have failed while on duty in Cork so far. The other MC failed while on layover in Parnell Place a few weeks ago.

That was also put on a lowloader instead of being towed away to Capwell.

The days of the Tow-Car and bar are almost over,as most Warranty Work these days will be passed straight over to the Manufacturer or agent who will have responsibility for handling everything, thus the low loader and direct to their workshop.

You'll see quite a bit of this in the UK fleets also,as in PR terms it's not quite as negative as a brand new branded vehicle being dragged in on the end of a bar, with dirty greasy Mechanics heaving at the dead steering !!!

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

Not to mention a dead bus blocking up city streets for hours waiting on the tow bus and mechanic who would usually have to disconnect the drive, gearbox etc before towing the bus anywhere. Ah the good old Bombardier days!
