Having gratefully received a milestone birthday gift of a Cannondale Synapse Carbon 105 from his collective offspring PaterScone is already looking to upgrade from the Maddux R2.0 disc.

Having been offered a deal on disc Ksyriums he's keen to take it up before he puts miles on the Maddux wheels.

I know little about wheels in general and even less so about disc brake wheels but it seems like a stiffer wheel like the Ksyrium WTS disc would go against the comfort /cobble gobbler nature of the synapse?

He had Zondas on his last bike and is obviously lookingfor a fast rolling lighter wheelset.

These guys seem to do good light disc wheels. Need to pre-order though, so would be waiting a month or so

I've an unused set of those I keep meaning to offload. They're only suitable for running tubeless IMO.

Which model? Why did you decide not to use them?
Not a good fit for clinchers?

Whats wrong with the Maddux wheels? Was thinking of a Synapse myself and those wheels come on it

I don't think there's anything wrong per se. He just wants lighter.
