I applied for fis while on maternity benefit.I was awarded fis and got back paid on 1st of April.got a letter that day to say I would be receiving fis every thursday.on Thursday 7th of April I got no payment with no warning.received a letter that day to say my fis was stopped until I got a form filled out from my employer which was included with the letter.it was to tick a box to say if I had returned to work from maternity benefit or if I was on paid annual leave or taking unpaid leave.I am on paid annual leave then returning to work on 2nd may. my employer filled out the form and sent it back on Wednesday the 13th of April.I ring the fis department every day and they say they still have not received the form.they are very rude and just keep saying they are very busy.I understand they are busy but I have had no payment since 1st of April this has left me in a very difficult financial position and I've had to borrow money for food.my wages from work is paid 3 weeks behind so my maternity benefit is still being deducted from that. I am worried now that I still will not have my fis payment back next week.I thought once you were awarded fis you got it for a year unless you informed them of changes in circumstance.my circumstances have not changed.I just took paid annual leave!.has this happened to anyone else ?.can they just stop your payment without warning?

It can take up to 4 weeks from when you send that form. I've had to return it twice now (2 separate maternity leaves) first time took 2 weeks second time 4.

You can contact the cwo to see if he can make a interim payment while you are waiting for it to be reinstated.

Am surprised the CWO couldn't provide something for you.

your circumstances have changed you were awarded while on Maternity leave and that payment has now ceased.

Until there is proof of return to work or paid leave you are not entailed to a payment.
