Is it normal to bargain price when buying a car from dealer? for example for 30k? What's the expected bargain if any?

    Bring cash. Flash cash.

    Talk, walk.

Leave a small brown envelope with your number on the outside.

    Wait for call.

    tl/dr 10 - 15% if you can play hardball.

Depends completely on the type of car and how well priced it is relative to the same car elsewhere. There is no set percentage, some cars have very little scope for discount.

Depends on the car, seller, spec, possibility of other buyers.
We just bought a car from a dealers this week.

Advertised at €15,950. Got it for €14,700 as we had the bank draft there and cash to allow for an immediate purchase. (We had already checked out history etc).

Dont forget the most important aspect of negotiating: Timing

Dealers and sales guys work to targets of monthly and quarterly intervals. Try and time your purchase close to a quarter's end and you will be surprised how hard you can squeeze them.

The thought of not being able to afford the kids shoes motivates even the most arrogant of salesmen. ;)

Dealer wanted 7k , I offered to be down on the train the next day with 6k. I made the trip:)

wow didn't knows bargain could go upto 1000 euros.
well it's BMW 320D (2013)...dealer is not giving any discount when I asked he said sorry we have "fixed price" so I thought it was unusual for me to ask for any bargain.
Well I don't want to pay in cash given so many scams. online transfer or draft would be safer option.
I won't call the dealer for 2 weeks now and see if he gets back to me. let's see.
Any other suggestions? To get the dealer call me back?

How well priced is it against other 2013 320ds being sold by other dealers? If the asking price is the lowest compared to others then it's going to be difficult to get a whole lot more off it. Other factors include how much the dealer bought the car for, how much he needs to resale for to make his profit margin and how long he has it. Remember a 320d is not a difficult car to sell so the dealer might hold tight if he only just bought it in and see what interest he gets in it.

A good car won't sit for 2 weeks. If it does they want too much or there's something wrong with it.

Ok. well the dealer has advertised it 11 days ago.
What I will do is wait for another 2 weeks and try my luck again. It is 30k and I offered 28k.

Nonsense. Sometimes it just takes time for the right buyer to find the right car. It wouldn't be unusual for a car to sit in stock for 2 months and still make the full asking price.

Iv often sold trade ins for the asking price after refusing lower offers because i knew id get the asking price eventually, even moreso lately because of the quality of trade ins im getting
