ST Monsoon Extra Pump

I got a new Stuart Turner pump (3.6 bar) for a pressurised system I am putting in.

The reason I went with this model is that it's supposed to be universal and will work with a positive or negative head. But the installation insturctions say that it has to be at least 1 meter below the bottom of the cold storage/feeder tank.

I'm puting this in my basement along with the cold water tanks and don't think I'll be able to get anywhere near that much height. At most I would have only 30cm, but preferably the tank and pump would sit at the same level.

The pump will be the only draw on the tank and have a dedicated 1 inch feed.

Has anyone installed somehing similar and had issues? I can understand the 'official' need for the 1 meter in most cases, but I would have thought that 1 inch dedicated flow & large volume of water would be enough for a pump like this.

The pump comes fitted with a flow and pressure sensor so will be covered in the unlikley event the tank runs dry. I talked to one of their tech guys today but he didn't seem to have much going on upstairs..........

    Thanks
