Identify a door lock?

My Mum got some doors in a place outside Waterford many years ago. The locks that came with the doors are failing and need replacing. The problem is there's no identifying marks on the locks. We can't find the same ones anywhere.

All I can see if a "F" inside of a large fancy "Q". Not sure what that is. The usual other stuff is on them: "Reversible Bolt" and "2LEVER". If anyone could id the lock for me so I can get a replacement I'd be very grateful.

I've attached two images to this post.

second image is door handle not lock.. you'll have to remove the handle to remove the spindle then remove the screws on faceplate to remove lock mechanism & identify then.

  • I'm not sure if you've missed the two photos above or what exactly you mean but here's the only other photo I have.

Take the two screws out in this picture..

and remove the screws on one of the handles (there is a bar running between the two handles (spindle)) remove this then pry out the locking mechanism.. bring to hardware shop and ask for replacement if you need one?

It's a standard 2 lever lock I'd say. Only thing is the face of the lock it where the bolt is is an unsual shape might be difficult to find.

  • I think I've been a prat. We need to get a replacement for the whole thing i.e the lock, the handle etc. My Mum wants the same style of handle again.

The locks are standard internal mortice door locks any hardware will have them, unscrew one of the handles and take it with you to the hardware to compare it with what they sell, try a few places for some variety.

  • I believe they tried that with the handles already and nowhere in the city had a similar one. Therefore I was looking for a name or brand or something to search for online! :)
