In ear headphones for flights

I have a set of Sennheiser over ear headphones that I use for flights but I find them uncomfortable after a while.

Looking to get set of in ear that would be a good alternative. Would I need to get noise-cancelling?

Looking to spend as little as possible since I already have something

    Any recommendations please?

It's all about isolation when using in ears on a plane. For example, bag yourself a pair of Klipsch x10/11/12 iems = they're deep insertion and provide excellent isolation.... really excellent. But the deep insertion might feel odd and even uncomfortable for you. They work great for me mind you. Note, that's when using the supplied silicon tips.

I would recomment however that you focus on the tips themselves... Regardless of the earphone you buy , spend a few quid on some Comply Foam Tips or Shure's Olives. Essentially they're memory foam and form a fantastic seal without having to go too deep into your ear. So if you have some in ears already as you suggest and they're compatible with these types of tips, spen here... it'll be a lot less than buying new 'phones.... Comply have a compatibility guide on their site.... The Shure's will work with Shure and a few others but no guidance will be available... What are the ones you have?

Sorry if a stupid question but how do you get stereo sound from normal headphones when the planes have those stupid two hole sockets?

If you can find one, there is an airplane adapter that exists. Other than that, I have no idea.
