Got these in dealz, 6x42g for €2 (not the usual 1.49)

Pretty nice, I would take them over a regular mars but I find the regular ones pretty boring.

I got a packet yesterday - I thought they were only alright, ok, a bit more chocolately but still small as eff. I needed one and a half bars with a cup of coffee, so they are very bad value.

Bars are all sorts of sizes these days, I just look at the overall weight of packs in dealz

you get 6x42gram bars for 2euro, that is 252grams. If it was a regular dealz item it would be 1.50euro, and that would translate to be 189grams which is a higher weight that the majority of dealz packs of similar bars. So I considered them much better value than most.

Regular singly sold retail mars are only 51g now.

I understand what you're saying, just I would rather get four bigger bars for the same weight, than the the six smaller ones.

It can be difficult to get bars much bigger in multipacks nowadays. A year or so ago they reduced many to around 250kcal per bar and multipacks can be less. Regular mars in tesco mulitpacks are just under 40g

2 bars which did not seem to change were bounty and double deckers.

It might be easier to find a bar around 30g/20g and have 2/3 of them. In dealz they have the bar section, but then there is a biscuit section which also has loads of bars.

I got breakaways in dealz 19g bars, haven't had them in years.

Go on, admit it, I am just a greedy feck :-() I want bars now to be like bars from five years ago and you are right, that ain't the situation any more.
