BudgetAir - Any good experiences?

I booked flights to New York last night through BudgetAir. Before looking I googled them and found lots of good reviews.
Straight after booking I got a confirmation email which said tickets would be POSTED to me. I googled again and found loads of really bad reviews (how had I missed them?)
Most of the bad reviews related to people who had needed to make changes to their bookings.

I'm now really worried that the tickets will not arrive.

Can anyone tell me if things have worked out well for them with budgetair?
How long did it take for posted tickets to arrive?

Would appreciate anything to put my mind at rest!

I've used budgetair 3 times with no issues. There is no flexibility with bookings though, you need to change anythng it costs money.

It's great to hear that Duffman. Did you get your tickets by post? How long did it take to get them?

My rule is always book flights directly with the airline. If you phone them they will usually match the fare. The main risk with third party bookings is if something goes wrong, you end up with the airline and the booking service passing you from pillar to post.

Not much use to you now OP but something to bear in mind for next time.

Wow!! A conversation on the telephone!! Only kidding athtrasna...seriously though have you done this? I couldn't imagine Aer Lingus matching a Ryanair flight price to say Gatwick.

Even nowadays with 99% of flights booked online would a phone call even be answered?

They won't match in that way but I use the itasoftware matrix a lot when booking flights. If I can't find that price online I call the airline and they find the fare. They only match their own fares

Mine were actually email to me on all 3 occasions, usually got confirmation within a day or two and tickets a couple of weeks later depending on the flight

The tickets arrived by post today. (Just 3 days after I booked) All in order. I was able to go into the airline's own site and pick seats.
    So relieved!

OTAs often do offer better deals - definitely don't discount them just because you don't know of them etc.

I've often got flights with United for cheaper than United.com on OTAs, and they've never offered to price match.

However the poster who said they're inflexible is also correct - if I was making a booking that I thought may need to be changed before the departure - I'd suck it up and book direct with the airline. OTAs are great when your plans are set in stone.
