cavity wall insulation - not beads

Hi. My Mother had her cavity walls (no existing insulation in the cavity) pumped a couple of years back by some government funded scheme. The insulation used was not bonded bead but looked more like a mineral wool type of insulation. Her house is from 1970, so her cavity would be no more than 100mm, maybe even 75mm. But…

Hi. My Mother had her cavity walls (no existing insulation in the cavity) pumped a couple of years back by some government funded scheme. The insulation used was not bonded bead but looked more like a mineral wool type of insulation. Her house is from 1970, so her cavity would be no more than 100mm, maybe even 75mm. But it's made a great job of her house, even given the fact that her double glazed pvc are at least 15 years old. I always thought bonded bead was the best you could get, but this seems to be performing great. Is this mineral wool type better for cavities?
