I recently applied for jobseekers allowance about 2 months ago.. and I've still not received my payment and I'm confused on when I'll receive it..? I rang my local social welfare office and they said there was a backlog and that I will soon receive a letter in the post saying my claim was accepted or not...but I've still received nothing. A few days ago I got a call from the office saying I needed to come up to sign a form, stupid me didn't ask what it was.. but does it mean I should be expected to get a letter soon about my claim or am I going to be waiting for longer ....

Did you go in and sign it?

I'm afraid if there's a backlog you'll have to wait for them to get to your claim!

Yeah I signed it... I was told there was a backlog a couple of weeks ago, and only the other day they called me about my claim, so do you think that means they got it and are processing it or....??

Yes if they are looking at your form it would mean they've started.

takes about 9 weeks sometimes bro, but you'll get it all in a lump sum first day you sign on in the post office
