What happened my tyres?

About 14 months ago I bought 2 Schwalbe City Jet 26 x 1.5 tyres. Only cycled about 50km on them and then the bike was left in the shed for the last year. Took the bike out today and noticed the front has 3 large splits close together. Back one is still like new.
Any ideas what the cause is?

It looks like a repeatable pattern. All three line up perfectly. Was something lying against the bike or was the bike sitting on anything?

Degradation from freeze/thaw action during winter especially if the tyres were pumped up hard.

No. It was just left standing on the wooden floor you see.

Damn, didn't realise that could happen. Waste of a good tyre.
