eBay buyer scamming return system, any hope?

Against better judgement risked selling phone on eBay, buyer confirmed arrival but claimed brand new phone wasn't working. Agreed return. Buyer sends a couple of broken ancient phones and an empty glass perfume bottle in an underwear box! I was suspicious of a scam all along but expected a different imei phone or a water…

I was suspicious of a scam all along but expected a different imei phone or a water damaged phone shipped back, not an absolutely transparent scam attempt.

Funds are on hold in PayPal, from what I've heard eBay will refund the buyer in cases like this in spite of it being obvious scam attempt.

Anyone any experience or advice?
