    Hi,

I know this has probably been done to death and maybe that is why I can't make sense of it but there just seems to be too much info going around!

I have a small parcel of land, 12 acres, and have just bought another 20.

I run a small purebred sheep flock and some breeding ewes.

I do work off elsewhere and have no formal education past secondary school.

Can someone explain which if any of the grant schemes may benefit me?

My understanding, and I could have this totally wrong is:

To be eligible for TAMS schemes you need to have some kind of BPS

For any kind of BPS you had to have registered last year

    GLAS - I haven't the fainstest

Has anyone any advice on which area even to do the research on or would none of these currently be open to me?

    Thanks

if u are under 40 and a qualified farmer , " level 5 and green cert" u can get 60 % grant , other wise it's 40% , glas depends on ur ground , if u have a river u could fence it , old permenant pasture things like that , lot of advisers offer free advice on the glas

    Is glas not closed?

    BPS
you can buy these this year, but not sure many will be selling...
Have a read here - it's an auctioneer, so there is obvious bias for business, but it kinda explains the lie of the land...

    TAMS2
    https://www.agriculture.gov.ie/media/migration/farmingschemesandpayments/farmbuildings/tamsiisupportdocs/awsnss/AWSafetyNutrientStorSchemeTandCs220715.pdf

Sheep handling is out, as is sheep fencing.
Building a sheep shed is in all right it seems...
What were you hoping to do under tams2? I know 40% sounds good, and if it's something you were going to do anyway, great - but I wouldn't let the grant steer you too much either...

    GLAS
I think viztopia is right - tranche 2 is closed now. I dunno is there talk of a tranche 3 or not...

Google is your friend first I'd say, then give the dept a ring with a list of questions you have...
    Best of luck...

The plan is to extend/refurbish or put up another sheep shed.

So am I correct in saying that be its TAMS or Glas, you first need BPS or do I have that wrong?
