This worked for me! Didn't see anything about 19.95.. Went all the way through, applied the gift code they gave me and it went through without asking for any payment details. I also got a confirmation email for the order - went for the indigo and red polka dot ones :o

Yes I just went back through it, no mention of the charge and they don't take payment details anyway! So I'd say go for it!

I assume you are looking at the "Subscribe" part.

What you need to do is choose "shop our sustainable good+" from the menu banner and than choose Socks.

Make your choice and go through the ordering process by adding your choice to the cart and than choose check-out.

Enter "FREEGIFT" into the Discount Box and apply it and than go through the process, it won't require to provide cards details as it says the order is free.

That will give you you a free pair of socks worth 7.00€.

Ordered a free pair of socks, but I feel a bit bad about it. Seems to be a small Irish company with a mailing address in Westmeath.

Nice find FF. Will be surprised if it arrives.

Yeah and no doubt some clever people here will be ordering MANY different orders. But thats just the way it will always be.

Then again it could be great publicity and make a lot of new customers.

Socks are the first thing I've bought from a bargain alert that I actually HAVE needed.
    Thanks OP.

You could buy something off them??

Got a welcome e-mail from Robert Galvin (the founder/owner of the company) this morning.

Guys- if its a small Irish company trying to get started- with a very small customer base- don't screw them over.

The offer is a free pair of socks if you subscribe to their newsletter- which seems fair enough. If you want the socks- the very least you can do- is subscribe to the newsletter- as they had intended.

Blasting them with orders for free socks- without a commensurate subscription to their newsletter (which takes less than a minute- but does involve e-mail validation)- will just screw over a small Irish company starting out- which I honestly don't think most people really want to do.

Just subscribe for the bloody newsletter.

Agreed, and I'll certainly consider them for business in the future!

Think we have been rumbled, code doesn't work anymore.
This code did not match any active gift card or discount. Was it entered correctly?

Personally, I'm glad it didbt make its way onto HUKD , as we know what happens with free stuff on that site; massive abuse.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 114 ✭✭c_meth

Can't see myself going for one of their quarterly subscriptions. But as a site for a one off gift, I can see myself using it.

I'm probably not their target market tho'

In fairness though they advertised the promotion themselves clear for anyone on Facebook to see, so it's not like they wanted to keep it a secret.

They have less than 1,500 followers on Facebook- just because you use a medium like Facebook doesn't mean you expect it to be abused by everyone in a 500 mile radius.

Thankfully- it looks like they copped what was going on- quickly enough- that its not going to cause them lasting trouble.

Personally- I couldn't see myself signing up for a monthly box from them- with the best will in the world, I don't have a budget for new undies monthly (and I tend to get mine in bulk in clearance sales- with the exception of thermals). I could very easily see myself buying one-off pressies for family members from them- which isn't their intended market- but it'll keep them ticking over doubtless.

I know what you mean but the point I was making was that it was an advertised post , me not being a follower saw it on my newsfeed, so they were reaching out.

If you look at the socks offerings area, 4 of the 7 available colors are now sold out.

I also can't go for their subscription because the sizes they offer for underwear (who is the target market with that size) but if the socks are as advertised, than it saves me from going hunting for a good pair as I absolutely love bamboo socks.

For me this is an easy way to see what the quality is and if it's up to the advertising I will continue shopping there.

    Aye seems to be finished

    http://stor.supply/pages/redeem-your-gift

Entered "FREEGIFT" and got "SORRY, THAT GIFT CODE IS NOT VALID"

This reads a lot like, "we'll keep your details on file". In a filing cabinet.

While I agree with your sentiment, I think in the age of the Internet, they really should expect it to be abused and seeing as they have removed the offer its quite possible they did see it coming and had a limit on the amount of freebies. If they didn't, it would be completely their own fault.

Nothing like a few freebies to get people talking and generate traffic and if they even got a handful of subscriptions then it will have been worth it for them. I'd like to think it was a smart marketing move on their part.

Ditto. Looking forward to my pair of polkadot socks.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,259 ✭✭✭Yggr of Asgard

Mine shipped to via "post" with no tracking number, so I assume they shipped it as letter or packet and it's going to be through the letterbox tomorrow or Tuesday.

I hope they get a fair % of people who used free socks offer back as regular customers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,259 ✭✭✭Yggr of Asgard

Has anybody gotten their socks yet?

If they really shipped Sunday or even Monday they should have been here today, but there was nothing in the mail today.

No socks here yet either. It's exciting watching the postman pass by though.

    That sounded a bit sad.

Same as myself. First impressions of the socks are great, I got the red houndstooth and they're better looking than I had expected. Hopefully they hold up well after a few wears. If they do I'll be buying from Stor again
