a friend of mine who is passed a while now had a .22lr pistol called a Browning Medalist Gold Line, I had the privilege of shooting it once, it was the most well made and in my opinion a beautiful pistol I have ever fired, and I have shot quite a few. It was so well balanced that at 25yds I was getting '9's and '10'. Has anyone ever seen or shot one of these pistols recently. This pistol, and I am showing my age, would be between 50 - 60 years old. anyone any leads

Nice piece,if it is anyway fancily engraved and in a case with extra bits they are pushing up to and beyond 800usd depending on condition.Rather heavy for a .22 pistol mind.

I believe these pistols were manufactured from 1961- 2 on and came in three grades from the standard model to a very ornate top line model. The Goldline as far as I know was the middle grade .These were Belgium made pistols (where all the top Browning shotguns are made) so I would believe the quality to be top notch. You are lucky to have been able to fire one of these pistols but your chances of seeing another this side of the Atlantic wouldent be very good. A mint condition Goldline could fetch $3000 in the US.:)

Have a look at the website of Simpson Ltd they have several listed for prices starting at $495. (however it is not the gold line model)

Simpson Ltd are a Federal Firearms Licence (FFL) Gun shop which specialise in in older and more military type firearms but have all types to suite customer demands. They also export throughout the world and deal on a daily basis with the US side of the transaction.

If you are seriously thinking of getting this particular pistol these may be the people to talk with They may be able to find one for sale for you. It may be beneficial to start looking for an Irish firearms dealer who could assist as well with the import and storage (as some may not want the hassle).

My partner has used Simpson Ltd in the past and cannot fault their service. Their website has information to the export procedure.
    Hope this helps

I think someone in hilltop has one but don't think they would sell it. There is a club shoot today. I'll find out when I go up.

thanks for the advice I have already looked into that the cost of shipping with paperwork is $600 without the cost of the pistol itself. the hassle at this end for paper work is a nightmare. I was looking to see if there was one inthe country and apparently someone in hilltop has one.

I believe a friend of mine has one too. Don't think he'd sell though.
It's a very sweet shooter. Very a curare. I think he has a short barrel for it as well.
