Rumours that a 'blockbuster' trade involving three teams is looming.

The Bills and Broncos are supposed to be waiting on the Browns to sanction a deal that has already been agreed.

    Bills get the No.2 pick

    Broncos get Tyrod Taylor QB

    Browns get
    Bills 1st and 2nd rounders 2016 and 3rd 2017
Broncos 1st rounder and an unidentified Broncos player.

Browns are so short of talent that they need a huge influx of players. This would give them picks 19, 31, 32, 49 & 65. I know this is a franchise that doesn't have great history but you have to give Hue Jackson & that new front office a chance. The QB's at the top of the draft are not worth what the Bills are giving up.

So the Browns get two 1st round picks? Taylor is a decent player and has potential long term talent but is he really worth giving up a 1st round pick and unidentified player?

Broncos have been masters this off season with deals but this one I don't get.

The Bills not really gaining from this also.

The Browns have done a cracking deal in all of this.

And is this trade worth of its own thread or should it be in the regular FA thread. All big questions during this off season.

I will be very impressed with the Browns if something like this goes through

The Bills have made an absolute shambles of their contracts and are in cap trouble. Taylor is hopping over their refusal to renegotiate his contract and will walk next season as a free agent. The Bills are cashing in on a player that they will lose. They are also in trouble at QB and will get a QB who might be their franchise player and will have him on a rookie contract for five years.

The Browns need picks because they are a disaster of a team - makes sense to give Jackson as many picks as possible and this would be a seriously good deal for the Browns.

The Broncos need a QB. If you were to pick a single QB currently in the NFL who is most suited to the Kubiak offence then it would be Taylor. The Broncos could give Taylor the $7million pegged for Kaepernick - more than doubling his current salary. Saying that - if this pans out it appears that Elway is pinning his hopes that Taylor will become the long term answer at QB. Depending on who the player is - no.31 and a player is a high price for Taylor. Of the options available at QB for the Broncos - Taylor is by far and away the best. Is he worth what the Broncos are giving - well that depends on the player in the deal and how good Taylor turns out to be. Personally I would like to see what Taylor can do in Kubiak's offence.

It would be lunacy from the Broncos to give up their 1st round pick and (a presumably decent) player for Taylor. I really like the guy as an ex-Raven but bloody hell. I agree with JRG in that it would be interesting to see what Taylor could do in that offense, but no way I pay that sort of price to find out.

I presume the Bills would be hoping to take Goff or one of the other QB's at #2 as they would obviously be guaranteed to get one of them. Goff I could certainly accept the case for as the best QB in this class (not that I would even consider giving up the sort of picks that this potential trade involves to do it) but I'm really not keen on any of the others.

The Browns would be absolutely laughing if this happens. Basically it would leave them with three 1st rounders (due to only 31 picks in the 1st round), a mid-2nd rounder and an extra 3rd. What a start it would be for Jackson and co. That said, if any team could completely blow those picks it would be Cleveland. It's hard to believe they've had 7 1st round picks over the last 4 years.

IMO this trade would be pretty unbelievable if it happened on Madden let alone in real life. It can't be true, can it?

Is there any decent source for it?

It should be noted that the Broncos attempted to sign Taylor last season but he turned down more money from the Broncos to have a chance at starting with the Bllls.

Kubiak clearly likes the guy as a QB.

Taylor's numbers last year look a total aberration to me. The Roman offense insulated him big time.

Crazy from the Broncos imo. Just take a shot in the draft and have Kubiak develop him. Trading big for Taylor before the inevitable big pay day would be lunacy.

Not that I believe this trade has any hope of happening.

There are numerous reports that the Broncos have inquired about Taylor - like I said - they tried to sign him last year.

The Broncos have been touted by many as taking a QB at 31 (or even trading up) - Taylor would be a better prospect than any of these.

On the actual trade - can't see it happening - it is costing the Bills far too much. Looks like someone flying a kite to see what might happen (possibly the Browns who would likely be happy to trade out of No.2).

And this is worthy of it's own thread because?

    The Broncos are involved?

Weird thing is there is only one site reporting this trade and it is a beat writer in Ohio working for an SI affiliate website. Actually looks like SBNation broke it first and the rest copied. But no official sources quoted and many debunking it 6 hours ago.

Because it involves three teams - two players - the no.2 pick - the no.19, no.31 and no.32 picks and a pick next year.

Strange if true. A one year rental of Taylor, maybe two if he reworks the existing contract, and as someone mentioned, it's at least Osweiler-type money he would be looking for - for a first-rounder and a (presumably decent) player.
The Broncos do seem enamoured with him though. In the run up to the draft, every move and counter move can be used as a tactic in other negotiations. With all the rumours it's impossible to seperate the wheat from the chaff, so very hard to speculate on these with any seriousness.

But is it true? No legit sources reporting it. Only beat writers none of which are known for their accuracy and inside scoops. Surprised no mainstream media has picked it up regular insiders.

Can't see this trade happening, to much given up by the bill's, that's just insane no one in this draft as good as luck coming out of college to warrant such a big deal,, but if it does I reckon titans trade with eagles and that when Bill's start slowly next season lose a few games the Ryan brothers could be out the door pretty fast,

fine to discuss the trade in here, its big enough to warrant its own thread, however cant see it happening

Below is the link to the only place reporting this potential trade and they've changed their story.

It's big enough, if it's true. Not sure how real it was/is, and can't see it happening anyway.

    Not the only place -

    http://www.netonesports.com/2016/04/13/bills-broncos-browns-brokering-blockbuster-trade/

I doubt such a deal would be done - I could see the Broncos going for it but the Bills would be giving up way to much to get the no.2 pick.

It is a rumour - many rumours turn out to be true - I doubt this one will.

One thing that does appear accurate is that both the Titans and the Browns are attempting to trade out of the top two picks (one of the reasons why I don't think what this rumour suggests the amount the Bills are giving is accurate) - and the run up to the draft could see some interesting developments.

And the Broncos are still looking at Taylor (who is trying to get out of Buffalo).

  • Il believe it if it happens there are hundreds of bull**** trades floated before the draft.

Seems like BS, especially since the Titans just traded the 1st pick to the Rams...no point giving all that up for the 2nd pick in the draft for the Rams to come in an swoop past you and take your player.

Is it too late to keep the thread title and just edit the text of your message to Titans trading with Rams etc?

I thought the cost to the Bills was way over the top with this rumour - but given what the Rams have given up the Browns could get something like what is suggested here from a team that want the QB the Rams don't take.
