This is a really, really good card despite the main event being a bit "meh". Imagine how good it would have been with Khabib/Ferguson still on it? Namajunas/Torres is the most intriguing fight on the main card IMO and would have been better served as the new main event for me, but I won't complain too much.

Dodson's bantamweight debut, Randy Brown's 2nd UFC fight, the return of Swanson, Correia's first fight since Ronda, the aforementioned Namajunas/Torres bout, can Horcher shock the world, Machida and Henderson both coming back off tough KO's.

I'm looking forward to this one, but as ASOT said in the Zagreb thread earlier, every card between now and 200 is so good.

Really Solid card. Agreed Paully, Rose v Tecia is the one I'm most looking forward to, should be a cracking fight.

Good card but better news is it's not a 3am main card! Getting too old to be sitting upto 6am lol

Also think Rose Tecia 2 should be the new main event, very good card still despite the main disappointingly getting cut.

Still like the fact Khabib gets to make his comeback notice his opponents sole loss came against Phillippe Nover and he is a drastically disappointing fighter since contesting TUF8 final was surprised the UFC brought him back and he fights at 145 now.

Can't wait for this, finally get to see Khabib fight again. Hope he can stay injury free, P4P number 1 for me if he can get a good streak going and assuming the injuries haven't affected his game.

Horcher missed weight, 162, apparently will try to get another lb off. He doesn't look in too good of shape as it is

Horcher has got down to 161 according to Helwani

Horcher looks terrible, weight cut must be horrific for him.

    Bethe's entrance was hilarious.

That's about the number of times Khabib is going to slam him to the canvas.

After listening to an interview with Evans yesterday it seems clear that he has zero confidence in having any sort of stamina to last 5 rounds.

If this was a 3 round fight he would be hoping to win by squeezing out 2 of them. Teixeira can be patient in this one and get the win I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭RedemptionZ

If Horcher has made 161 in the time they gave him does he still lose some of his purse?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭RedemptionZ

Also that weigh in was disturbing knowing that he was given 8 days to lose 25ish pounds. Really poor form by the UFC imo. He didn't have to accept the fight but it shouldn't have been offered to him, there's plenty of LWs who'd love a fight on the main card.

No. A fighter has 1 hour to get to within 1lb of the agreed weight(unless its a title fight). In terms of the UFC they did agree to a catchweight(160) when the fight was agreed, probably to help Horcher because of the short timescales

I know but the question has to be asked why they got a WW instead of a LW. Those weight cuts are really dangerous and shouldn't be encouraged.

I think Horcher is a LW but he's not fought in a while and wasn't in a fight camp so was heavy. He was on the mmahour on Monday and was asked his weight and he just said "hmmm heavy" but he seemed confident he would make 160 which he did....just took him about an extra 30 mins :pac:

The UFC have no way of knowing what weight he is when they call him up. Taking the fight is entirely on him imo.

8 days is a normal enough time to start to cut. I'd really question if he has the fitness to fight on short notice, especially after a huge cut.

I really like the look of the fight going u2.5 rounds @ 11/10, think Khabib will finish it fairly quick. 2/1 for R1, 4/1 R2 & 15/2 R3, Bet 365 have it priced all wrong IMO.

That chap will gas within 3 minutes if he lasts that long, that would've been a rough cut for him the last week ill be shocked if khabib drags this out 11/10 to be finished before 2m30s of the 3rd round knocking bet.

I've a bet on he KO finish, as well as under 2.5 rounds. Expecting a double win from the Eagle

That's not the way the bet works I'm afraid.

If it ends in first or second, you win.
If it goes to a third, you lose.

No that's how it works hence the .5 or then it would just be an over 2 round bet. You have 11 and a half minutes for Khabib to get a finish.

I agree with MDWexford. A 2.5 round bet is upto & inc rd 2 but anything beyond 2 rounds is a beaten docket

    Really, wow that's interesting.
I don't usually bet on UFC but presumed it would work the same as other similar markets.

You'd be incorrect also, look it up. I originally taught it was like that as well but its anything over the two and a half rounds mark, so 2.31 or round 3 would be a winner for over 2.5 rounds.

Yeah I orgnally taught the same, there does be some good prices on over 1.5 on certain fights. Sure on tonights main event there offering over 0.5 odds.

I've actually been looking at terms on various sites and ASOT is correct.

    I'm surprised by it though.

Well thats very strange because in boxing betting it works on the whole round. I got stung ages ago because of it
