How long to wait for a vehicle registration certificate on a 161

    Hi All

    I bought a 161 car from a main dealer on the 14th March and still haven't received the vehicle registration certificate.

    How long doe o it normally take to receive it.

    A week. Do a vehicle transaction enquiry on motortax.IE and see if the VLC has been issued - if that looks OK, try to tax it using the last 6 digits of the VIN as the pin and check the address.

    You need to tax it first.

    Are you the first owner on the car, or was it a prereg/demo?

    I want to tax it but when i do this its still showing the Name and address of the Main Dealer

    When is the tax out?
    Basically with demos, they're really supposed to keep them for a certain length of time, so what they do is hold off on doing the change of ownership till that time is up.
