The 104th edition of Scheldeprijs (1.HC) is on today, Wednesday April 6th. It is the Flanders Classic that is most suited to sprinters.

This is a pretty boring race ...... as the parcours is flat, and the race always ends in a big bunch sprint.

So why am I bothering to post this.... :P

Well Sam Bennett is taking part, and he finished 5th in 2014. Today will be a big test as he is against some of the best sprinters in the world such as are Kristoff, Kittel, Greipel, Boonen, Guardini, Cavendish, and Viviani to name but a few. Peter Sagan is also riding, but he has already said that he won't be going for the win. Matt Brammeier and Ryan Mullen are also taking part. The full startlist can be found here.

Live TV coverage on BIKE from 2.20pm.

    Live ticker here.

Really hope the finish of this doesnt class with the finish of the tour of the basque country. Finish of this should be a good one.

Kittel will be the big favourite today. Can't see him being beaten if he avoids crashing. Viviani beat him in De Panne but Kittel went too early. Kristoff won last year but the crash before the finish took out a few of the favourites so don't think he will repeat the win this year..possible podium. Greipel hasn't really shown great sprinting form lately but rode very strongly at the Ronde. Hopefully Sam will be there at the end, his form has been a little erratic this year. Think he had a better chance last year but the crash prevented that. Bouhanni might be the dark horse today and might just do it. Love his aggressive style :) So podium 1 Kittel 2 Bouhanni and 3 Viviani

Do you mean Nacer Bouhanni or his younger brother Rayane? Because Nacer isn't riding, it's Rayane.

Sam was with the bunch about 2km out but seemed to be on his own with no one to lead him out
