Front Door and Wooden Floor

    Hi,

We have removed the carpet in the hall as we wish to lay a engineered wooden floor there. I measured the distance from under the front door (PVC) to the concrete floor and its only 2cm. I would have liked to have had a coir mat on the floor at the door to help protect the floor from scratching, but that won't fit along with an underlay and the board itself.

How can I figure out if I can raise the door? If I can't raise the door, what options do I have?

    Thanks,

    Barry

    Matt well?

A matt well would be the way to go. You could adjust the door up maybe 5mm, depending on the hinges on the door. Anymore than that you'll risk draughts
