    HI
I have to know what the building beside number 10 Talbot Street is. It is in the middle of the street opposite Guineys. It is fairly big with a blue door. Looks like a government office, but no sign outside. I saw people going in and out of it, but hadn't the courage to go in.

Talbot House, it's a Dept of Education building. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talbot_Street

If you take a stroll around the corner to Marlborough Street, you can see the whole Dept of Education grounds and buildings that are behind that building you quizzed. It's quite impressive and visually attractive (image below) and unexpected considering the northern and southern ends of Marlborough street are so grotty!

That could be such a nice part of the city, with the Dept and the pro Cathedral. Hopefully the Luas will attract more people. It would be really nice if the courtyard/garden of the Dept was open to the public (with an appropriate skanger management plan in place!).

Also there's a new hotel proposed for the back of Clerys facing Marlboro St. That as well as the new Luas line should help a lot!
