Cracking 48" Smart Sony Bravia TV for a tad over 500 Euro delivered, with a free 6 yr warranty from RicherSounds, hard to beat that , especially with that kind of warranty. Gets great reviews on all sites, generally a 9.5/10 TV

Hmmm tempted but €579 is just too high for me.

Thanks anyway op. Nice tv if you have that budget, especially with the 6yr warranty

Also check out the Philips 4K range in Argos, all currently heavily reduced

Just did a currency switch to € on the site. That's some exchange rate.

Buy in sterling and add the £6.99 delivery. Works out cheaper.

Definitely pay sterling and add the £6.99 - cost me a little over 500E - add to that the 6 yr warranty and its a great deal for a very well reviewed tv. Paying euros and you can probably get it in bricks and mortar store with a 1 yr warranty, which makes no sense

What does it add over a standard EU Warranty?

£10 cheaper on Amazon with delivery to Ireland.

Curved are sh1te. Blunt but look it up. Worse viewing angle. They'll go the way of 3D.

You sure Amazon will deliver here? I looked at one during the week and would post to here or Belfast.

Ordered the same 50 inch i was looking at on Amazon from Richersounds. Ordered last Sat arrived on the Wednesday.

    An extra 4 yrs.

Preferred to order from reputable crowd everyone knows rather than Amazon, with the added bonus of the 6 yr warranty. That kind of warranty would cost you over 100E anyway.
Was only extra 10 and delivery and less likely to arrive damaged coming from richer sounds than it is crossing the irish sea

I'd imagine Amazon have earned the right to be considered 'a reputable crowd everyone knows' at this stage too. Their customer service record in dealing with issues is exemplary. As for the potential for sets to arrive damaged having crossed the Irish sea, how do you think richersounds stock makes its way to Belfast?

Fair enough, though sure Richer sounds check the stock when it arrives to make sure its intact. Again the warranty is probably worth 100 Euro at least, but everyone to their own.

Re Amazon, never a problem there and seen their price, just preferred to deal with Riacher sounds as can pick up the phone and buzz them anytime and plenty of excellent references to them from people on here.

Stock arrives from Manchester to your door for anything they do not have ready stock of, so they don't check all the stock.
I'm a long time Richer Sounds and Amazon customer, both are excellent.

Been looking online but so far no joy, can someone tell me how the HDMI cables are attached to this telly?, is it horizontal or vertical, to the side or middle of telly at back?

I've an LG, great telly but a real gripe is that the HDMI go in horizontally at side so the cables are visible to that side of telly.

EDIT: Also, can it take wired internet or only Wifi?

You will not have the issue with this TV as the HDMi connections ( horizontal & vetical) are pretty central rear of the unit. There are no ports on the side edges (like the model you currently have). This model will take wired connection.

Tx... just saw the conversation in the richersounds.ie forum and see that John opened it for delivery for a bit but it is back 'in-store' only for the moment. I've asked him could he re-open. Fingers crossed.

You can buy right-angle HDMI adapters in Poundworld and similar shops. Might tidy things up...
