I'm in the exact same boat, I got chatting to a guy in work today who's mate happened to own his own transport company and was actually looking for rigid drivers.
He sent him a text to confirm he was still looking for drivers then he put my name forward, I got a reply almost straight away asking me to send a pic of my licence. I'd say that's all I will ever hear back from it, it's so hard to get into with no experience.

It can be hard guys, when I got my full 'C' I just rang around all the transport firms and got lucky . You do get some knock backs. Try firms that have large vans as well as trucks, might get a start that way. Best of luck.

Have you tried anyskip companies? I manged to get a start for Monday with a crowd.
I wanted to drive a rigid for a logistics company but ill take anything at this stage.
He mentioned in the interview with me having no experience is a bad thing and a good thing.
The good being I'd have no bad habits yet and with proper training I could become exactly how they want me to be.I was holding off trying skip companies as it wasn't exactly what I wanted but it paid off.

The norm within transport companies is at a minimum 1/2 years experience, I was lucky when I passed my test nearly 20 years ago in that the company I was working for at the time.
Had a world wide insurance policy that meant once you held the licence for what ever you were driving you got insured, Back then a lot of companies needed lads to be over 25.
You could try a few agencies but from experience dealing with them I would give them a wide berth unless your not working at present.
