Expansion Vessel Wall Bracket

Has anyone fitted on of these brackets? They seem straight forward, but I can't figure it out. Does the ring get bolted to the outside or inside of the bracket? I presume outside. And which way does the bracket go onto the wall - presumably flat side on the wall, with the angles holding the vessel? I have a 35L expansion…

I have a 35L expansion vessel for solar and the bracket is for 35L to 50L, but when I tighten it up its still too loose.

The crowd that sold it to me were as useful as baps on a bull..............
