Two former Wilder opponents have pulled off big KO upsets tonight. Adamek was a sad sight though, completely shot fighter. I hope he retires now, he's had a terrific career.

Now would be his best time seeing as Froch is retired, Ward moved up, Abraham looks well past it and the Dirrell's seem to be in limbo. I still think De Gale would make absolute sh*t of Smith though.

I'd fancy Smith against any of the current champs except de Gale. That's a tricky fight.

de Gale is unorthodox and has a good defense and beard. I certainly don't think de Gale would make sh*t of him. Smith's fundamentals are very solid, as a result he's gonna be hard for anyone to beat. Plus he's absolutely enormous for a super middle.

Very impressive from Smith, I think at the moment DeGale is the only champion that beats him but that could change as Smith progresses which he doing very quickly.

Would love to see Smith v Groves, Groves just isn't the same fighter since the Froch fights and I think Smith would stop him.

At the end of the first round, both looked as if they struggled to make it back to their corner.

Yep was very impressed by Easter Jr. Insane reach for his division. Nasty KO too.

Gervonta Davis was a let down for me. Still looked really raw. Mayweather has said basically said he'll replace him as the best fighter in the world. Not by the evidence of that fight anyway.

Was a fun card overall I though. Type of card Eddie Hearn could learn a lot from. Entertaining fights.

Only getting to this now. We went to this card in the DC Armory which is across the street from the ramshackle RFK Stadium.

This was old school in every way. From the old venue that is really a warehouse type arena to the seating arrangements. Capacity of 10,000 and officially 8,172 there.

First fight we saw was a lightweight clash between Davis and Avila. Davis signed by the watching Mayweather scored a decisive win which even included smashing Avila's mouthpiece out in the 5th after some punishing shots. Then with his opponent on the canvas he danced in front of him. Classless just like the headliner. He may be unbeaten and thought of as the future but needs to show respect to the sport.

Next up Easter v Mendez at 135 pounds. The latter a former Champion but seemed lead footed and also gave away a height advantage. Easter went to town on him and it was all over in the 5th again. Thought the ref did well with a timely stoppage as the punishment was too much.

Main event next and appropriately enough for a lowlife like Broner on April Fools Day. Following some rapping maniac almost swallowing the microphone the main event was on!

He was bigger that the english lad, stronger and was clearly a step ahead on power shots. Initially I though the stoppage was premature as it looked like Theophane had slipped but Broner had hit him in the nuts and he had naturally bent over in pain and put his hands up. Anyway Broner was not in danger despite his game opponent. Crucially though he never really impressed.

Broner has deviated from the master plan since I saw him beat Malignaggi.

Absolutely no chance Floyd will fight him. He had another crack at Broner by saying he thought the fight was a draw!

Back in same venue for a more interesting card on the last day of the month.
