Hi folks,
I hope this is the correct forum.

My friend's girlfriend went to the immigration office today to request an extension on her student visa. Her boyfriend is in the process of obtaining a work permit with which she'd be a named dependent, and he had his request for an extension approved no problem.

Unfortunately it appears that she got someone on a bad day as the agent went into a tirade saying 'I'm just sick of doing this' and the like, after the agent in the next booth commented that there should be no problem giving her the extension.

She's under a lot of time pressure to get this sorted and has no clue what to do. She's been told to go back to her home country but wants to stay, as does he.

Any advice much appreciated
