    I've been chasing Irish Water for a refund for a few weeks since they tripled charged me. Amazing how the money can be taken instantly but I'm told a cheque will be issued to get a refund. Still waiting on that. Meanwhile, I get another bill today which says payment must be made by 04/04/2016. I was on to customer care who told me that the refund should make its way out to me by 06/04/2016, "blah blah Easter slowed it down etc." All this after waiting an age to get through on the phone, as per usual. I'm glad I didn't give my direct debit details, no more payments from me until I get my money back that I am owed.

    Hi wearyexplorer,

    Thank you for your query.

    We can certainly investigate this further for you, if you could provide the following information via PM:

    - Name;
    - Address;
    - Account number; and
    - Confirmation you are the account holder.

    Once we confirm these details, we can look to assist you further.

    Thanks,
    Alex

    How did you pay, a triple charge would imply they took the money automatically but you say, you did not give them direct debit details?

    Was this by credit card? If so and it was done in error, why don't you do a charge back instead of waiting for a refund?

    Sorry just saw this - it was over their website, which kept hanging. I didn't refresh but it didn't  appear to work so I ended up going through process (which kept timing out) three times. Got sorted in end. I also wonder when the latest compliance figures will be made public - care to comment Irish Water?

    We are still working on the latest billing data and figures will be released in due course. We have no date for release yet.

    Kind regards,
    Mairead
