Just wondering has anyone used holiday discount centre to travel with. Anything to add. As we plan on using them for the first time this year and wondering is it worth it

If you don'y want the extra hassle don't use them if you think its too good to be true.
Always read the T&C's or at least ring them up, take a name of the person you are speaking with, ask about any charges incurred later and write them down.
Then you can make a judgement if its worth it.
A rule for me when using SkySkanner is not to even look at the first couple of websites linked.

From my own experience, lastminute and ebookers are fine to deal with and after that i use the Airlines themselves.

Very unlikely there's a deal there you cant do yourself. Post an example and I'll show you how if you like. As a rule they use UK agents who have an Irish license with names like "Bargain Late Deals" and an Irish phone number redirected.

Base price is flight and hotel only (no bags, transfers, airline handling fees etc..)

The prices only update every 24 hours or so which is why you have to call to confirm actual availability.

The site is a hook to get you to call and then pile on the extras to get the real price which you can almost always better by doing it yourself

It's an Irish site I was on.

I broke down a 5 star hotel deal in Tenerife for September and it was about 30% cheaper with this crowd than booking flights and hotel separately.

    But have a go :

    Sept 5th - Sept 12th
    Iberostar Grand Mencey 5*
    Flying from Knock

375 per person based on 2 sharing.

That's ridiculously cheap, say 300 for the Ryanair flight, you're paying nearly half the advertised price for the accommodation...

Yeah it's a .ie but definitely not Irish.
It's like the old days of Aertel - you can only call them to enquire about mostly expired offers

No way that price will be available when you call - guaranteed

Yeah, quick googling and it's all crap
Lots of complaints about paying a lot more than whats advertised.

Here is a good one for you for a night away as a couple. The Park Hotel Dungarvan have an unreal offer at the moment. We booked this just yesterday after hearing it from a friend. They call it the "Funday Friday" offer. 2 people, 1 night, breakfast, 2 course meal in the restaurant, chocolate & bottle of prosecco in your room for €119. If you go to a fancy restaurant you are spending the same. Here you have everything included. I've never stayed there but heard good things about it and the area (Greenway and stuff like that).

It is a bit hidden on their page. So you have to click on "Book Now" and select an upcoming Friday for one night and it will come up then. Not sure for how long through.

Most if not all, online agents do not have live pricing so basically it's an invitation to book and usually if you proceed, prices will rise.

Unless its a very complicated itinerary, I'd DIY it.
