    Hi All,

My 2.5 year old fell and cracked her tooth. She has been in pain for near 2 months now.

We went to a couple of dentists and they said leave it and just monitor it.It got worse and she is in pain. Then she got an abcess and had to go on anitbiotics.

We went back to the dentist and then they agree we should have it extracted but the problem is there is a 1 month waiting list, even if we go private in the beacon.

We have stressed that she is in pain and not sleeping etc but they don't seem to be pushing it along. Its the HSE dentist that is supposed to send in a referral letter and then she gets an appointment but this was last week and still no letter sent to the Beacon.

Is there any other way of expediting this that anyone knows of?the people we have been dealing with don't seem bothered after us stressing how bad she is with it?

It's either the health board clinics where you will need to pester them to get it pushed through or go private but that will be more costly.
A good paediatric dentist may be able to do it without a GA...

There are a good few private children's dentists, google them. It's usually faster than the public system. Hard for a child to be in dental pain, hard for parents and hard for the dentist trying to treat. Once it's sorted redouble you child's efforts on prevention if possible.
