On Invalidity Pension and not fit to hold down a full time job - good days and bad days.
Have been looking to see if I could do something in the line of charity work and it looks like it might be a possibility if the Dept approve it (?)

Then I was looking further and see mention of Community Employment Schemes and saying someone on Invaliity Pension can apply - can someone tell me in plain english how this would work? Do you keep your IP? Do you get paid anything extra?

Has anyone on here done this?
    tia

Ce schemes you get the same as every one else, there used to be a time when you kept your pension and got the ce rate as well.

    Thanks mp22.
Is the rate for CE schemes the IP + €20? Am finding it hard to figure it out exactly.
Also if I applied to do voluntary work - do I need to source the voluntary work first and then apply for permission to do it or is it the other way around?
and a final one - it was very very difficult to get IP in the first place so am wondering if by applying for permission it might cause them to try and take the IP off him...

It looks like IP plus 22.50 per week.Voluntary work I`m guessing but find some work you can do then ask the dept for guidance and take it from there.
