Shop around. At lot will depend on any fixed transaction charges, especially if buying a small amount.

I have used the revolut app to transfer money to my UK account for the past 3 months. They offer the instant interbank rates. It takes a few days(2-3 days) to transfer from the app to my UK bank account.
I use it to transfer €500 at a time, for my security. I bought a car in the UK and didn't use the app despite it offering a much better rate than the bank, I didn't trust it with over €10,000!

Incidentally they also offer a debit card which would again offer the best rates.
Before Revolut we take cash out in the UK, take at least £100 at a time to minimise bank charges. Usually you get a better rate than buying it from An Post or the Banks.
