So it's my first time flying on Wednesday morning and I was wondering could anyone give me any advice. Will be flying from Dublin airport with ryanair, I have checked in online and that's about it. Haven't a clue what to do from there on, I'm going to have check in luggage and possibly carry on too. Can anyone give me any advice on what to do once I get to airport?

If your flight is before 8am be at the airport 2 hours before the scheduled time. You will be flying from Terminal 1 and Ryanair check in area is to the right when you enter the building. You can't miss it as it will be the busiest area of T1 and there is Ryanair across the wall. Check the departure screens so have your flight number to hand if your not sure. Drop your bags and then head for security. After that there is shops etc note that you need to be at Ryanair gate 25 minutes before departure and allow 10-15 minutes to walk from security depending on how fast you walk. Gates will be listed after security and the majority of flights depart from 1xx gates.

At security you will need to remove metal objects (belts, watches etc), mobile will all have to be placed in a box. Restrictions on liquids any bottles bigger than something like 50ml will have to be thrown out before security of placed in check luggage.

Need to print your Ryanair pass also.

Think that's it, will be lots of staff to ask if there is any issues.

    No

You only need to go to the check in desks if you are checking in baggage, if your not then all you need to do is clear security.

Pay the checked bag fee online, at least 4 hrs before your flight. If you wait to do it at the airport, when you are dropping off the bag, the fee will be double. You have two options to choose from...15kg or 20kg. If you go over the weight, there is a charge per individual kilogram. So start putting some thought into how heavy your bag is going to be & weigh it, if you haven't already.

You are allowed one 10kg carry on bag, that can measure no bigger than 55-40-20 cm. They are fairly strict on this. There will be staff at the boarding gate, eyeballing everyones carry on luggage. They also have metal cages to measure the actual size of the bags. If your bag doesn't fit into it, you will have to check it & pay the checked bag fee. You are also allowed one smaller personal item, like a handbag, or a small backpack.

The airport security liquid limit is 100ml. So if there are certain toiletries you want to bring in your hand luggage, decant them into a 100ml plastic bottle. You can pick up 100ml bottle travel sets in any Dunnes, Pennys, 2 Euro shop etc. The container itself must be no bigger than 100ml, so you can't bring a normal size bottle of shampoo, shower gel etc, that just has a bit left in the end. There is no size limit to what you can put into checked luggage, but be careful if you do that, as they can drive the weight up.

Where can I print boarding pass? Or will the boarding pass on the app do?

The boarding pass on the app will be fine. I recommend taking a screenshot and saving the image to your phone in case you have no internet.

To be extra safe I would advise printing your boarding pass if you can.

It is also possible to print the pass in departures hall in T1 by using the internet stations.

Once you've got your boarding passes via the FR app, they're saved there & remain accessible, even without an internet connection.

Put all your liquids in the bag you are checking in. If you have any in your carry on luggage you will have to put them in a clear plastic bag and have no container larger than 100ml, so don't buy a bottle of water before you go through security. Much easier put all pointy or liquid things in the checked bag.
