Not entirely sure why this was renamed for the UK/IE market, so figured I'd use both in the title. Seems a shame this doesn't appear to have its own thread, because I thought this was a highly enjoyable, genuinely funny & moving film. Discounting Disney's CGI 'princess' films, to me this was the strongest CGI Disney Animation Studios flick so far, a more balanced marriage of humour for both the adults and children than something like Big Hero 6. Though like Big Hero 6, the world-building was an equal joy to watch.

And while the message of tolerance and the dangers of racial stereotyping was practically written across the screen in bold letters, it wasn't preachy to the point of obnoxiousness: like the aforementioned humour it was perfectly balanced. In fact, I initially felt the message got a bit muddled throughout, but on reflection the film did an admirable job of both simultaneously playing up to stereotypes & subverting them (uh, insofar as one can stereotype a fox; it was clear we were meant to read between the lines here).

Suffice to say, I really enjoyed this and if you're looking for a palette cleanser after the gloom of the other blockbuster this weekend (Batman V. Superman), you could do a lot worse.

I agree pixelburp and I'm surprised it's so quiet here.
Went to see this with my kid on the basis of almost no idea what to expect, no trailers, a few quick reviews, just something to entertain the kids and was more than pleasantly surprised.

It's probably the most inventive, clever and universally appealing movie Disney has made in a long time.
Have to say even the so called world-building of Big Hero 6 couldn't redeem it from feeling it was written by a 12 year old boy for 6 year old boys. Deflated and holed in every sense of the word. BEN 10 by any other name.

This however had genuine humour, an actual plot, a world you could believe in without the gaping holes of BH6, clever details, a few twists and turns, a taste of fear and threat, one or two awkward scenes, some brilliant homages that very few kids will get and at least one jump out of seat moment.
Best of all there was plenty for kids to question and adults to enjoy without the underlying theme being too in your face.
Quite long, but never seemed to lull right to the very end.

An intelligent animation that gives many of the real multiverses much to live up to.

Really weird naming there, had someone copyrighted Zootopia in Europe?

I've been having fun calling this film random words to see if people knew what I was on about.

Yeah. Kind of feels like the only thing wrong with film is the name, don't know why,
A Danish company hold the merchandising rights for Zootopia in the UK for a forthcoming mega zoo attraction.
    Zootopia

Well, that and the "bunny" is just a bit too "cute ".

Apologies to any rabbits that may have been offended.

I watched it yesterday at an early showing and it was very enjoyable. Definitely the best animated film Disney have done in quite a while for me. They could have slapped the PIXAR logo on it and I wouldn't have known any better it was that good.

I loved it! Disney's Robin Hood has always been my favourite Disney film but this may just have pipped that, I just loved the world they created in Zootropolis and I can't wait to explore it further in sequels, if I had been a kid watching this I probably would have pissed myself with excitement. I can't wait to watch it again and keep an eye on the background detail because there's so much going on.

The message is definitely not subtle but it isn't overdone either, plus the characters are so likeable it's hard not to root for them. The development of the friednship between Judy and Nick is expertly done and I think it's great for a Disney film to have to characters of the opposite sex who are just friends (I can't think of many other examples).

I saw a half ten showing in Cineworld and am glad to say it was reasonably full and there was a lot of laughter. I think we got it a week earlier than the UK due the Paddy's weekend so hopefully it won't swept under the carpet by BvS, it's getting great reviews and is definitely more suitable for children.

Dog of a trailer has me hating it before I've even seen it, "They can text and take a selfie..." Ugh.

I reckon the marketing really let it down, at least over here. Guess it's one where the movie didn't live down to the hype.
Maybe the whole naming thing messed up
It's getting 8.4 on imdb, the same as TS3 and I wouldn't dispute that it's right up there.
A definite buy when it comes out, you know, for this the kid

No, they are two very different voice actors.

I thought it was a play on the words Utopia for Zootopia and Metropolis for Zootropolis.

    Delightful movie really enjoyed it.

Yes I saw that at end credits but the actors sounded the same to me :o

Just seen it there, very impressed. One of the 'for kids of all ages' movies akin to the PIXAR library. Really funny and intelligent with a fairly mature theme underneath it all. Although there's an obvious message being pushed it's not overly preachy, at least in my opinion. Definitely more relatable in countries like the US where racial tension is more prevalent but still a good watch for Irish audiences. Highly recommend it. My favourite movie of 2016 so far.

I only heard about this on boards, the marketing for this in Ireland has been pretty poor from what I've seen but according to Wiki it's the highest grossing movie so far of 2016 so they probably aren't sweating it too much.

I found it very relevant here when you consider how travelers can be treated at times.

I'm still laughing at the clerk in the dmv

True was thinking the same especially the first time we meet Nick.

Brought the kids to see it this morning and thought it was really enjoyable. As others have said the themes and messages are present throughout the movie but are not in your face for the most part.

Also the bit in the DMV is genuinely one of the funniest bits I have seen in the cinema in a long time.

Saw it last night. Wonderful film. Good reminder as to why I should stop writing off these animated films as their quality often seems to surpass most of Hollywood's other offerings.

Again to agree with almost everything said above. Very good movie, obvious social message not rammed down throat, visually gorgeous and kept a 3 year old on 2nd visit to cinema quiet and bit fidgety. So high score on all counts.

Wow. I didn't expect that. Such a funny, charming, intelligent and visually beautiful feel good movie. Shocking that it went so under the radar.

This was awesome. I'd put it in the top 3 films I've seen so far this year.
