Umbilical slurry

With the weather after breaking again I'm still beat for dry ground. I'll have to park the tanker for a while it's an 1300 with normal wheels and it would cut ground to pieces. What way does the umbilical pipes work and how much do they charge. My brother in law would mix it up for them.
Also I have to cross a lane I presume they would put down skids
    Thanks

100 euro an hour, I think. They roll out the pipes to where you want it spread and one tractor pumps and the second spreads the same as your tanker just without the weight of the tanker behind you.

A neighbour spread across a road near me, he had a bank of fine gravel each side of the pipe and a lad slowing traffic passing over the pipe.

100 an hour, they can cross roads fine our contractor has steel ramps that they put the pipe thru with a bit of gravel put down around them. As buford said one tractor pumps the other pulls the pipe and spreads. They tend not to go any lighter than 2500gal an acre

Would there be any problem going a journey to the field, I mean how far would they blow? Do I have to pay for setting up?

110-120 an hour around me with a couple up to 150. setting up takes no time. its a far cheaper method of spreading slurry when all costs are included.

youll have some slurry out in no time once its mixed right and watered down. it isnt as forgiving as the tanker when it comes to wrap bits of plastic or net.

If the field can hold a tractor, there will be no problem. The guys round here generally have flotation tires or else very wide tires to spread the weight.

There is no blowing of slurry, it's spread right behind the tractor with a downward splashplate or dribble bar the same as you would have on the back of your tank.

Generally you won't have to pay for the time involved in setting up of tackling up after, just spreading time.

One of the contracters here used to have a price per hour for reeling and a higher price for spreading, he's changed it now, straight hourly fee from when they arrive in the yard..

Most lads have pipes that will reach at least a kilometre. Fellow coming to me tomorrow says his can reach 1500 metres. Main thing is to have the slurry runny enough.
The lad claims that once you get the slurry moving through the pipe, the extra distance makes little difference to the power demands on the tractor pumping. €100/hour.

Same charge around here from the time they arrive until they leave. The sooner they can start spreading the lower the charge.

spreading here with pipes for the last two years. anyone with land around yard is mad to use a tanker. great way of moving stuff. lads used to give out about them in paddocks but a good operator wont bring posts with him. my lad starts in the furthest away paddocks and drops the pipe he doesn't need anymore. he charges from the minute he comes in the gate. 100/hr.
he'll pump up to 4km with a second pump in the middle.

only thing is tank has to be super well mixed. don't be afraid to fire in a few load of water and leave the mixer sitting in it. the pump doesn't like bales!

    Wow, 4 km that's a huge distance.

I got a real sickener last year. First time getting pipe. Charged me €650 to agitate and spread 2 2bay tanks. Thought it dear.

Agitating is expensive, especially if it's thick and needs water. Can be 65 an hour to agitate.

How would it compare with an upward facing splash plate or if your land was too wet to travel on a rain gun.
