    Hi,

I'm looking to do something with this awful looking fireplace. It's not in use, and never will be. I haven't got the money to get it taken out, so some sort of paint job will have to do. I've no idea how to go about it. Some feedback would be fantastic guys

    Cheers

Not sure if I'd paint it. I'd be inclined to clean it up and seal the bricks, and add a proper mantel to it. If you do want to paint it get wire wool and give it a good clean. For inexpensive job any masonry paint will do it, if you put on light coats a few times it should cover up well enough
