Tax back (how do i calculate)

    I, i got married in April 2013 and my wife has been on disability allowance since before we married.
    I have been taxed as a single person since ( i didnt know i was entitled to her tax credits.
    Rang revenue, have filled out form and they said i would be entitled to a refund.
    Any know how much or how to i work it out?

    What's your income? More than €32,800?

    How much is her payment?

    Hi, Sorry about the late reply.

    No my wages is less then €32k.
    Her payment was 188 euro until Jan this yr when it was reduced to 115 euro.

    The information given is a bit vague for any precise calcuation.

    If your income is under the cut off, it's all liable at 20%. Calculate out the figure at 20%, and deduct your tax credits from that.

    What you are left with is tax payable.
