    Hi folks,
I have a GUI card from 2012/2013 when I was a member of a club in Dublin.
I have not joined a club since then but I am about to join a club in Kildare soon.
Should I assume this GUI handicap has now expired?

Yes, it expires the second your membership ceased. You will now have to submit 3 cards when you join the new club but remember to tell them of your old handicap.

What about rejoining your old club after a gap of just a few months? I've dropped my membership since the New Year but I hope to rejoin in the next few months...

I'm nearly sure if it goes over 6 months you need to submit 3 cards again. I know i definitely had when i took the year out.

Ah well. An excuse to go out three times? That's not a hard task to complete!!

Yep, you have 6 months from the date that your membership lapsed.

if you intend to keep playing though, I would suggest just going in and talking to your club. There is leeway to negotiate membership with pretty much all clubs as long as you make some sort of commitment to your returning and through this you could negotiate a means of keeping your handicap.

Paying through installments or whatever :)
